Pasta is traditionally made using wheat, but there is a Japanese noodle made from the konjac yam known as shirataki. Shirataki is available in traditional pasta shapes, such as angel hair shirataki, fettuccine shirataki, macaroni shirataki, and spaghetti shirataki, and are a very low-carb alternative to regular pasta. Shirataki is also low-fat, low-calorie and gluten-free (for certain brands).
Here's an easy Asian fusion salad guaranteed to impress. The spaghetti shirataki add extra texture to the salad and extend the portion size without added calories. You can serve this salad for a main meal, or cut the portion size and serve on the side.
